Finally!!
I finally got it finished and yes I'm pretty happy with it, although its not a true "Surface" sweater ( I just couldn't figure out that darn blister pattern) I substituted a double moss stitch and really love the look! I am looking forward to making another one of these
with a few more alterations to the pattern but for now I'm just happy to say that I'm done with it. I learned a lot doing this one.
Also thank you to Katie over at philigry for her help and encouragement. Take a moment and stop over at her Blog she is having a great give away!!

A Couple of Things for The Hog Shed
In preparation for the up coming sale at The Hog Shed I was happy to get back out into the shop! especially since my dear friend Deanna sent me these great stencils that I re-created into pillows ( yes, I totally stole her idea but she said it was OK! ) anyhow I love how they turned out and hope to be making more soon.
and then on to a fun and springy slipcover My mission was to find some fun fabrics with green and oranges but this caught my eye, so I had to get it. Cant you just see this in an English cottage.
I guess I'm just a cottage girl at heart.
Looking forward to some more fun ideas that Ive been cookin up in the ol brain for next month and will be posting some pics of my latest knitting project too, I'm almost done, just need to get some buttons!!

Something for Sara and Matt
A fun and super comfy chair for Matt and Sara this is a great swivel rocker that needed a little redo ( no before pics sorry ) it was red but now its a beautiful buttery yellow in the softest Ralph Lauren Corduroy
I have to say that this was one of the nicest fabrics that I have worked with to date.
Supper soft.. this will truly be one comfy chair!

Getting my Spring on!!
I have been slowly getting some things switched around in the house. In anticipation of spring/summer, I took all my reds out of my upstairs and am putting back my green and whites I love the the neutral background of the house its so easy to switch things up for a refreshing change!
one of my favorite things about my dining room is this textured wallpaper its one of the few things that I did when we bought our home that has never been changed out!! I just love texture and this totally fits the bill.

Soap making 101 ???
There it is... homemade soap
This past week I tried my hand at making my own soap It did not go so well. I was never able to reach trace so my soap while moldable is not as hard as it should be but it works all the same and it lathers up so nice.
I got the instructions here and had a great time trying it and am looking forward to giving it another go in another week or so.
This is a shot of my mixer after about a half hour of mixing waiting, waiting, waiting for trace but trace was never reached!
On another note I found it over on soulemama this morning and thought I'd share it with you!
have a wonderful day

Knitting a little bit
Working on a little something for me. slowly slowly it goes but I love love love the pattern. no matter how many times I tried the Blister pattern on this one I could not get it to turn out. and since I have no one close enough to help out in person I am changing things up a bit although Katie over at philigry was so kind as to help out with some great suggestions and advise, with out a real visual I just could not get it. so with her encouragement I am plowing forward. all I can say is that it will not be exactly what I wanted but I think I will like it anyway
Looking forward to sharing a finished project with you!

When I don't pay Attention!!!
Yeah so this is what happens when I don't pay attention!! I was so excited to do this chair for The Hog Shed But instead I get it for my own. Why? well because I did not make sure that it was in good sound condition before I snatched it up... it was free!
yes, it was a little worn in places but it was free!!! it was not til I was about 3/4 of the way done with it when I noticed that the wings were a flappin just a little too much and there was a spring that was not springing!!
This little baby was a labor of love as I did not spend any money on it Just my time all of the fabrics were just bits and pieces that I had in the whites bin and an old batten burg lace bed skirt. That's one if the reasons that I was so excited about the whole thing! because every thing ( except the zipper ) was recycled a true "Re-Creation" oh well now it has a nice little spot in my home for a while and then it may have to go into the landfill :(
But for now its safe and sound !!
