Pillow Talk

Fun new pillows for the shop !
I had such a great time putting these pillows together.

I was on my way home from the shop  the other day thinking hard about what I would like to do for the next sale and this is what popped into my head.  Beside my bed along with my Bible I have a note book as well as several note cards with some of my favorite verses written down on them. I like to look at them often to be reminded of the importance of my faith.
I have been wanting to do some higher end linen pillows for quite some time now and well, it just seemed to be the perfect marriage.
So, off to the shop they go.
Note~ I will be offering special order pillows that can be ordered until  Dec  6th.
Do you have a favorite Verse or Quote? I would love to hear from you.

Here is the after picture.  I finished it up and took over to the shop last Monday. Happy to say it sold already!
I took this picture before  I tossed the finished product in the wash and pressed it out abit. The skirt is looking a little bit wild in this picture but it did settle down.
big grommets painted black for the back
The lamp table got a fresh coat of paint and the shade got a fun slipcover too.

Lampshades and Sofa's

I just completed this project for one of my favorite clients.  This is an awesome barrel hanging lamp that she found at a shop for super cheep.   We made a  lamp shade slipcover  out of some fabrics that she had left over from another project. This slipcover simply warps around the shade and Velcro's in place the buttons are just add a little extra detail.

for the sofa she wanted a very contemporary look so we did the whole thing with very clean and simple lines no piping and just a couple of pleats in the front. White linen was the fabric of choice.

Thanks for stopping have a great rest of the week.

Fridays From Home

A look at what I've been working on when I'm not in the shop.  Our home is too shady for a garden spot so we have a space at a farmer friends place. Lots of canning and freezing going on around here.

Fridays From Home

I thought I'd start  doing  a Fridays from home post so that I could share some of my
 "other than work" passions/projects.
I really do love just about anything that involves being creative and domestic when I'm at home knitting sewing decorating gardening canning or just cleaning my home, I'm "livin the dream" for me anyways. I'm always doing something.  This is what my Fridays from Home posts will be about.
This is a bit of what I've been up to this spring, Knitting. I love the feel of doing something while doing nothing ie watching TV and waiting for the garden to grow!
I would love to hear from those of you out there that are passionate about what you do.
Happy weekend

I just couldent stay away

Yes I'm back at it after a brief but very much needed brake I'm back in business and very excited to be doing what I love to do.
Slipcovering is in my blood I guess. While on my brake from slipcovering I have done 4 complete slipcovers for myself and family.  I just can't stop myself.   I'll have pictures of what I've been up to in a week or two  but for now I'm off on a top secret, week long vacation.
Have a good week!
PS. have you ever slipcovered your lamp shade?

two dollars + two hours=....

Equal's fun pj's. Spring is here and that means garage sales are everywhere.

Although I did not find what I was looking for ( chairs to slipcover) yeah I'm back at it, more on that later.  I did find a great vintage linen table cloth.  The table cloth was just big enough to eek out a pair of pajamas for summer.
I used an existing pair of pajama pants for the pants pattern and the top was a pattern from this book

I really had to get creative with the placement of my pattern pieces but I do like the way they turned out.
hope you're finding great stuff out there too.
