I Think I'm Nesting

OK so the truth of the matter is that I am always nesting but since Amber DD#1 is due any day now Its just feels like nesting in the truest since of the word. Thursday I went Shopping in St.Cloud and that means fun shopping yarn shops fabric outlets and Crafts Direct and the big Thrift store. I go for my Business... or so I tell myself. But more often than not I find something that I fall in love with. This time it was fabric for my new pillows (they are showing up kinda of yellow but they are more of a green ) see them there on the couch and chair? well I eeked out 5 pillows using 1-3/8 yards of that main fabric. So yeah, when I got home on Thursday I did not eat or sit down to watch TV or clean or talk on the phone ( OK so I did a little bit of that ) but I went right out to the studio and made pillows. Then I washed slipcovers and cleaned and reorganized the living room.

And then on Friday I went out and purchased something fun for my front step. I found this at Wal Mart

This is a big herb planter with regular Basel and Italian parsley and see that Tiny stuff? its boxwood basil! I'd never seen it before

I Sure would like to meet My Grandson! do you think he'll like the new pillows and Planter ;0)

A Birthday Gift.

Something fun for DD#2. My Middle Child Turns 20 today. I cant believe it. It sounds strange just saying it out loud... 20!!! and she is my child with the funky taste in everything ( I love it ) its so fun creating for her. So this is what I came up with for part of her gift this year. A bean bag and pillows for her apartment, from fabrics that she Picked out a while ago. I had discovered some left over insulation foam beads in the garage and thought that looks just like the stuff that they use for bean bags, so I asked DH if he was going to use it for anything and the answer was no so "game on" I was in my creative heaven. This was my first bean bag and I have to say it was fun to do.
Now I'm off to the store for birthday dinner fixins, Tacos was the request and an Ice Cream cake of course!! Happy Birthday Autumn!!!!!

A Little Something for Gail & A Little Something for Me

Yes I've been in the shop lately! working on my favorite kind of project. A true Re-Creation This is a chair that was in need of a little dressing up for a new Client who Love's the white and off whites (me too!) and what a perfect way to approach the lighter color pallet then to make Washable slip covers. So that is what I did and the true Re-Creation part of the whole thing....

Well we got to re purpose some old things. The chair cover was, in its former life, a Shower curtain!! and....

This gorgeous foot stool slipcover was a bed spread at one time. I really like the way this gal thinks!! I love the way these projects turned out so much so that I needed a little something for myself ..

Which brings me to this little project. This is my desk chair that I will not be showing a before picture of because of that fact that I upholstered it in white (what was I thinking!) and it was DIRTY!!! so I finally broke down and got busy making a Washable slipcover for it. I love it

I found this fabric a few months ago and it's been sitting in the shop ever since. its like a burlap type fabric very heavy and durable. Yes, I think this will work!
Thanks for letting me share my Passion with you!
