Late Night and Early Morning Knits

Finally finished up with my Fall Riding Coat by Debbie Bliss and I'm really happy with it. I did make quite a few modifications to it ( good learning experience) I have to say that this is a warm one and really fun to wear.

also made up a pair of "Those Mitts" that I was going to give as a birthday gift but realized I had already made a pair for the person last year now they sit in my gift stash.
and then a quick little knit for my sons friend they bought the yarn and I turned it into a hat.

Have a great week!

A Little Something 4 Me

As I was looking for a couple of Christmas gifts on Etsy the other day I ran across this seller. She makes the cutest recipe boxes( Gifts) and address files, the something for me part of this post. I convo-ed her and asked if in addition to the lettered tabs would she make the months of the year tabs also. Now I have address and birthdays all in one place. The cutest file ever! I love having a card for each Birthday. I can put all kinds of info on the card, sizes, favorite color what I gave, ect... Speaking of Birthdays, a gift for a nephew who's favorite color is .... yup, blue!

I found the pattern for the hat here and used size US 7 needles and for the yarn I used two strands of computer died stripes sock yarn held together. Super fast and fun knit!

Finally Finished

Well I finally finished the pullover that I have been working on forever and no its not perfect and yes I will wear it proudly ( cause I worked hard on it ) OK maybe Ill only where it at night but I will wear it!! I was talking with the gal at the yarn shop and this is how she blocks her sweaters and I thought it was so brilliant that I had to share it with you. see how you can get every thing to line up perfectly. I simply bought one of the cutting boards and then laminated it with some clear shelf liner stuff.
and a shot of our 4 generations before Mom left I so wanted to get a professional one done by my dear Friend Deanna but schedules where so crazy when Mom was here.

Thanks for stopping and have a great rest of the week

all my bag will come with hand made coordinating Stitch Markers that my Daughter Autumn makes with her super Beading Skills!!

All bags are one of a kind ( not the greatest picture~ sorry )

I am looking forward to making another one of these with a few more alterations to the pattern but for now I'm just happy to say that I'm done with it. I learned a lot doing this one.

Knitting a little bit

Working on a little something for me. slowly slowly it goes but I love love love the pattern. no matter how many times I tried the Blister pattern on this one I could not get it to turn out. and since I have no one close enough to help out in person I am changing things up a bit although Katie over at philigry was so kind as to help out with some great suggestions and advise, with out a real visual I just could not get it. so with her encouragement I am plowing forward. all I can say is that it will not be exactly what I wanted but I think I will like it anyway Looking forward to sharing a finished project with you!

Something fun for Sister Holly

My Sister Holly's birthday is coming up so I thought she might like a little something to keep her warm. I love the color of this yarn its so springy and what a fun pattern for the hat I got it free here. it was a supper fast knit
I changed up the fingerless gloves a bit and wow it worked! I wanted them to match the hat a little bit so I did a little seed stitch? where there is usually a ribbing. I really like the way that it turned out

Thanks for stopping and have a great weekend

Being Creative with Autumn (DD2)

What a fun day yesterday. I got to spend the day in the workshop with my daughter Autumn, being creative! she has caught the crocheting "bug" and wanted to make a bag for all of her crochet stuff. So, she showed up with a picture of what she wanted and together we came up with this cute little bag. I Love it!
Now she is my crafty and creative one so after looking around on the computer and seeing all the cute stitch markers that are out there she decided to make some herself how cute!!!

and look at these pink ones I just love them!!! she does such a good job. I would never have the patients for this!! now to get that Etsy shop up and running so she can start selling them.

I Did It !!

I did do it!!I finished a project that I am really proud of these mitts!! which are really " Those Mitts"I had started these a couple of times and got stuck so the other day I decided to go to the Internet for help and found Great help on UTube, and was able to get these little guys done. I found the FREE pattern here and will be making many more for Christmas as they knit up pretty quickly!
First pair will be for my son who has already stretched out this pair from wearing them ( why didn't I make them in Pink!!) he calls them " Texting gloves." I have been busy knitting and will be sharing some other projects when I get my camera out again, lots of fun. oh yeah and I finally got a chance to go to my LYS which is an hour away so not so local but its probably a good thing. Anyhow after an hour and a half of wandering the shop, looking at all the great yarn, Talking with the gal at the shop and learning lots and 70.00 spent on yarn for gifts. I was walking out the door a Happy knitter!!!

so.... right home, quick get something to eat and dive into that bag of yarn!!!

Finished

OK, so I finished it! but will not be using it EVER! tons of mistakes and questionable knitting all the way through the project. I wanted to post a picture of it ( for evidence ) before I take it apart and use the yarn for something else! I will say that I learned a lot along the way, buttonholes for one! oh and how to stitch together shoulder seams. I think next time I try something like this I will need to get more help along the way.
Thanks for letting me share
