Casual Elegance

Well I snuck in another "My projects" Day again yesterday, so first it was a couple of pillows. The first being this long one that I used some great old hand crocheted lace and vintage buttons on and the second pillow that I made is the one with a monogrammed F on it. I got this GREAT idea from Katie over at Philigry she is always doing great things and I'm always looking forward to her new posts!!! Thanks Katie

The Second part of my project was to slipcover this chair that I found at a garage sale a couple of years ago and I love it cause I've never seen one like it before, it actually folds out to a single bed. Its one of the real old ones that has a metal frame.... its super heavy but its nice and big and I liked the fact that it has no arms! So in following my "Blue Mood" I found this beautiful satiny fabric and loved the print but didn't want anything in the house to feel that formal, so I found a fun cotton brushed fringe and used it in place of the piping and then added a bit of vintage lace at the bottom and I really like the way it turned out . well its back to work I go .........

House and Home

Waiting for Spring.... This is something that I look forward to every year, yes I like to new spring flowers and the birds that come around again and the Sun the Sun yes yes yes the Sun!!!
But one of my other favorite reasons is so that I can redo and freshen up the house. This year I am feeling "BLUE". It's my new favorite color along with the color Green!! I love to keep most every thing in the upstairs a basic white/off white so that I can change things up easily. So this is my start on the spring summer look. With many more ideas in my head that will be added as time and money allow!!!

And A peek at the new rug that my honey got me for Easter.... so sweet.

Slipcovering Again

Well here we go again with the start of a new year at The Hog Shed. Loving this chair. I want to keep it for my room! I found the fabric at Wally World. In its intended form as a King sized bed spread on clearance last fall. Well I knew the moment I saw it that it was not going on any bed, it was destine to be a slipcover !
I was really drawn to it because of the texture (which I had a hard time photographing) I love fabrics with texture. The only problem was that the weave of the fabric was a bit loose so I had to line the whole thing kind of a pain in the ........

Slipcovering Again

What a fun project. This one is out the door tomorrow on its way to The Hog Shed.

A Sweet slip covered Chair for a little girls room complete with a pocket on the side arm for a favorite book!! I added detail in the back with a lace up closure and I'm really happy with the way the whole thing turned out. I wish I knew how to do all of this when my girls were little !!!! De

Things have been busy with home, family and business.

I have been working on some new designs for my ebay business, this is a new style of tote that I offered last week on ebay. I love the way that it has turned out. I am also trying to get things together for the spring sales around here. I will be posting more photos in the next couple of days with things that I have been up to.... Slipcovers. Right now I am anxiously awaiting the final touches on the new workshop, hopfully within the next week I will be moving in!! but for now I am woring on stocking up for spring, which is somtimes a chalange to think spring when the temp is -12 as it is today. The cold weather always makes you appreciate the beautiful warm weather when it arrives.
